LEE WELCH (b. 1975) is a Dublin based artist. He studied at the Academy of Art College, San Francisco and is currently studying at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin. His exhibitions include: a forthcoming solo exhibition in the LAB, Dublin (2008); all colours black (next to nothing), Ashford Gallery,Dublin (2007); Pleasures & Wayward Distractions, Broadstone XL Gallery, Dublin (2007); Holga, Monster Truck, Dublin (2007); falling somewhere in-between, Queen Street Studios Gallery, Belfast (2006); Seconds : : The Imperfect Artwork curated by Aileen Lambert, Wexford Arts Centre, Wexford (2006); Eigse Carlow Arts Festival, Carlow (2005); Workroom Press, The Workroom, Dublin (2005); 60 Seconds, 291 Gallery, London (2004); Open 4, Crawford Municipal Gallery, Cork (2003); First Chiangmai New Media Art Festival, CMU Art Museum, Chiangmai (2003); The Return, Goethe-Institut, Dublin (2003). Lee has recently been selected for the 2007 Short List for the Irish American Arts Awards. He was Artist in Residence at the Roundstone Artsweek, Connemara (2005), Exercises in Folkatronica, Dublin (2003), and has been awarded Revenue Funding from The Arts Council of Ireland and the Seeders Grant from Dublin City Council. Lee Welch is Founder and Director of Four, an exhibition space in Dublin.
